WTA players to watch in 2020/21: Belinda Bencic

If the tennis tour does return in 2020 or early 2021 then who are the players to watch out for? Which youngsters could make the biggest impact? Here, tennishead picks a player who could make a real impact: Belinda Bencic

Although she made her debut on the main tour as long ago as 2012, Belinda Bencic is still only 22. The world No 8, who reached the semi-finals on her debut at this season’s year-end WTA Finals, has had a number of injury issues in the past, but with a clean bill of health has shown this year the extent of her talent. She won titles in Dubai (where she beat four top 10 players in succession) and Moscow and was runner-up in Mallorca.
