The Dane has rediscovered her form in recent weeks, winning 15 of her past 18 matches after bouncing back from a first-round exit at the French Open.

A run to the semi-finals in Eastbourne and a 22nd career title in Istanbul helped boost her confidence ahead of the American hard court season.

"I'm in a great place right now," Wozniacki said after her 6-2 6-3 win over Magdalena Rybarikova in Ohio. "I've been working really hard. And this is the part of the season I really like. I love playing on grass, and I love the US Open Series. It's definitely part of the season I play well in, and winning in Istanbul a few weeks ago was definitely a confidence boost."

Wozniacki is one of a handful of players to have topped the rankings but never won a Grand Slam title, but the former world No.1 believes her best chance of a major lies in New York, where she is a three-time semi-finalist and reached the final at Flushing Meadows in 2009.

"The US Open is the Grand Slam I have done the best at," she added. "I just feel so comfortable there, and I've played really well there in the past, so I'm definitely really excited for it. I'm in a great place both mentally and physically on the court. It's an exciting time."
