Wozniacki hires Thomas Johansson

The Swede, who won the Australian Open in 2002 and picked up a silver medal in doubles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has been working closely with the Wozniacki camp over the past few weeks and is set to continue the relationship through Wimbledon and the Olympics as well as the US Open in September.

"He is very experienced and has played tennis at a high level so he can see some things others might not see," said Piotr Wozniacki, Caroline’s father. "We have made agreements and put a plan together with him, but he also has other work and a family. It's good, he lives in Monaco, so we can work together. He's ready when we get back from [Paris]."

Wozniacki lost her No.1 ranking earlier this year and slipped to No.9 going into the French Open, but she should be much higher than that, according to Johansson.

"Caroline's a great player and in my opinion she should be a fixture in the top 3,” he told a Danish tabloid. “We must give it some time. One doesn't make no miracles in such a short time."

With family and boyfriend, golfer Rory McIlroy, in Paris this week, Wozniacki will seek to bounce back from a first round retirement in Rome, where she suffered with respiratory problems.

The 21-year-old Dane has not won a tournament since last August, when she won in New Haven, and has reached just one quarter-final at Roland Garros, in 2010.
