Tsitsipas makes surprise announcement about what he values more than tennis

 

Rising Greek star and World No.9 sends emotional message to fans about the one thing in life that he sees as more important than any victory on the tennis court

 

He’s building a reputation as more than just a brilliant tennis player and Stefanos Tsitsipas has confirmed that tennis isn’t the most important thing to him, it’s the value of human life that he cares about most.

Responding to the shocking accident involving Russian aeroplane SU142 which saw 41 passengers die after the plane caught fire on the runway, Tsitsipas has taken to Twitter to communicate that he values human life more than a victory on the tennis court

Tsitsipas faces French lucky loser Adrian Mannarino today at the Madrid Open and he’ll be hoping that he can continue his winning run in Madrid after securing the title in Estoril last week.

Tsitsipas is building his reputation as a player that can win on all surfaces and his ranking of No. 9 in the world is mirroring this ability. His 2019 results include 3 finals, including Estoril, plus an eye-catching run to the semi finals, for the first time at a Grand Slam, during the Australian Open in January this year.

Tsitsipas was quick to thank his huge following of Greek fans this week when he tweeted to acknowledge a number of Greek fans wearing blue wigs that turned up to watch him practise.
