Roger Federer coaches Severin Luthi and Stefan Edberg

“The greatest of all time” – Boris Becker highlights key reason why Roger Federer is the GOAT, has another dig at Nick Kyrgios

6-time Grand Slam champion thinks that one key factor has helped Federer become the greatest and is stopping Nick Kyrgios from winning a Grand Slam

In an intimate video (below) Boris Becker has explained why the coach plays such an important role in the development of a tennis player and used the example of Roger Federer to highlight the potential benefits of finding the right coach and sticking with that coach.

Becker was speaking as as part of his role as an ambassador for online coaching video service Top Level Tennis when he said,

“Roger Federer has worked with the same coach, Severin Luthi, from the beginning. Yes he has a Ljubicic and he has an Edberg, but his first coach is the same guy. And Roger is the first one to say that without Luthi he wouldn’t be the player that he is. Roger Federer, the greatest of all time. Yet you have other players like Nick Kyrgios who say coaches are overrated and a waste of money. Interestingly enough he’s never won a Grand Slam”
