tennishead Magazine: June issue out NOW!

With the rate we throw around the word ‘jam-packed’ at tennishead towers it would appear the world’s supply of the phrase will be due for extinction in 2016, but how else can we describe the new 116-page issue of the world’s greatest tennis magazine? If we do say so ourselves.

Rafael Nadal returns to our cover for the first time in over a year after his remarkable comeback from a knee injury, which has seen the world No.5 collect titles in Sao Paulo, Acapulco and Indian Wells. Rafa fans can get their fill of their hero in our main feature, where award-winning journalist Paul Newman analyses the Spaniard’s comeback and assesses his chances at his favourite Slam, the French Open.

Speaking of Roland Garros, our preview of the season’s second major should whet your appetite before the battle commences in Paris. We take a look at what’s at stake, all the main contenders, and examine whether or not Andy Murray has a chance of lifting the Coupe des Mousquetaires.

In the second of our feature articles we delve into the world of Italian tennis, analysing the nation’s history in the game and it’s bright future, while doubles legend Max Mirnyi sits down with tennishead to talk about his love for the game and the importance of sport and family values.

We also talk with former world No.7 Fernando Verdasco about Spanish tennis, marriage proposals and how he still dreams of winning a Grand Slam, while up-and-coming youngster Madison Keys, who has been tipped as a future world No.1, tells us about her goals for the future.

If playing is more your thing then you can skip to our unique Academy section from page 61 where Tomas Berdych and Julia Goerges show you how to play like the pros; Sara Errani shares her secrets to being a great defensive baseliner; sports psychologist Roberto Forzoni gives an insight into the mental side of tennis; and Andy Murray’s former coach Miles Maclagan offers his expert advice.

We’ve also got all the latest gear news, including a comprehensive review of all the major rackets on the market that are built for intermediate-level players, while Marion Bartoli breaks down what she looks for in a racket.

And if that’s not all, we have all the latest tour news as well as a comprehensive results section to ensure you haven’t missed a shot.
