Novak Djokovic’s US Open triumph may seem like an age ago now but to remind you of his scintillating season to date, we‘ve plastered the smiley Serb on the cover of our latest issue with his most recent Grand Slam gong.

On the back of the Belgrade native’s phenomenal form and the stranglehold that Rafael Nadal, new world No.3 Andy Murray and Roger Federer continue to hold on the top four positions, it seemed sensible to ask renowned British journalist Barry Flatman to analyse whether this is the best period of men’s tennis we’ve ever witnessed.

And with all the power and excellence on show in the men’s game, Sam Stosur made sure there’s no shortage of intrigue in the women’s in New York. We delve a little deeper into the life of the athletic Australian, who has taken an interesting route to her maiden Grand Slam title, excelling in doubles before mastering the singles game and overcoming Lyme disease way back in 2007.

Talking of champions, tennishead editor Lee Goodall takes a closer look at how the Czech Republic has managed to churn out so many top players in recent years, while we also talk to some of the leading tour umpires about life in the hot seat and analyse the evolution of the women’s game during the Open Era.

On the interview front, we tracked down chirpy Wimbledon semi-finalist Sabine Lisicki, while Philipp Petzschner is our ‘Me and My Racket’ star this month.

Of course, there’s plenty more great content with which to fill your boots. We’ve got our usual stash of stunning photography; coaching, travel and results sections, as well as a guide to tennis shoes.

Ah, and lest we forget, the season isn’t done and dusted yet and with the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals looming in to view, we thought we’d close the issue on a friendly chat with five-time champion Ivan Lendl.

We’re too good to you, aren’t we?
