The Australian, a three-time semi-finalist at Roland Garros, is hoping to go one better than in 2010, when she was beaten in the final by Francesca Schiavone.

The world No.9 won her only major at the US Open in 2011, but it is the clay-court slam where she has enjoyed her most consistent results.

She has struggled for form and fitness this season, suffering back-to-back defeats In Stuttgart and Madrid, but reached the quarter-finals of last week’s Internazionali BNL d’Italia where she lost to Victoria Azarenka.

"I'm certainly not writing myself off and I'm not going to say I'm the favourite either," Stosur told AAP. "But I love playing at Roland Garros and it's the tournament where I've had my best results. I don't see why this year couldn't be any different if I keep doing the right things."
