Fourteen-time Grand Slam champion Pete Sampras has had the majority of the memorabilia that was stolen from a storage unit last November returned, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The 39-year-old had a number of significant items – including two Davis Cup trophies, his six year-end world no.1 trophies, his first Australian Open crown and an Olympic ring, taken from a storage rental facility while he and his wife, actress Bridgette Wilson, were moving house.

But boxes of the memorabilia were found at a hospital in suburban Marina del Rey on Saturday morning and handed over to Los Angeles Police.

The trophies and other items, including an autographed piano bench from Elton John and an autographed guitar from Carlos Santana, are set to be returned to their owner with no further investigation expected.
