Novak Djokovic looks concerned at French Open 2020

“Stefanos Tsitsipas is playing the tennis of his life” Novak Djokovic cautious of young opponent in build up to French Open semi-final

Novak Djokovic has come in for some criticism after using the physio during his quarter final victory but he’s not thinking about that now as he has more to worry about in the shape of the flying Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, his opponent for the semi finals of the 2020 French Open

Novak Djokovic will face Staefnois Tsitsipas in the semi final of the French Open today and he knows he will be in for the fight of his life against a player who has shown over the past 12 months that he can compete with the very best in the sport.

Djokovic was asked about the prospect of facing the young Greek in his post match press conference after a somewhat controversial victory over Pablo Carrena Busta when he said of Tsitsipas,

“He’s one of the best players in the world right now. He deserves to be where he is in the rankings. He’s been playing the tennis of his life in the last 12 months, winning the ATP World Tour finals and just being very consistent on all surfaces. He’s got an all-round game. He’s a big guy with weapons on his serve and froehand. He produces a lot of spin on his backhand. He’s really a complete all round player.”
