Former world No.1 Maria Sharapova has revealed her plans for the autumn – a trip to Asia to play back-to-back Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Premier events.

After competing at the US Open, which ends on September 13, Sharapova will rest for a couple of weeks before heading to the Far East for events in Japan and China.

The three-time Grand Slam champ will first line up at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, Japan, which runs from September 27-October 2.

MaSha will then play the China Open in Beijing from October 3-11.

Both are outdoor hard court tournaments and both are Premier events on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour calendar.

Sharapova won the Japan Open when it was an indoor event back in 2005 and was a semi-finalist in Beijing twice in 2004 and 2005.

The 22-year-old returned to the tour in May after nine months on the sidelines following shoulder surgery in late 2008.

She is currently ranked No.49 in the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour world rankings.
