Caroline Wozniacki has split with coach Richardo Sanchez after just two months on the job.

The Dane’s father Piotr told the ‘Ekstra Bladet’ that his daughter didn’t get “new impulses” from working with Sanchez.

The Spaniard had previously coached Jelena Jankovic and reportedly signed a one-year deal to work with Wozniacki alongside her father when the pair linked up in early December.

At the time, Sanchez said that coaching Wozniacki was “like a dream come true” and equated the job to “how Pep Guardiola must have felt when he was allowed to coach FC Barcelona.”

Unfortunately for Sanchez, Wozniacki has since relinquished her No.1 spot and fallen to No.4 in the rankings after losing to Kim Clijsters in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.

Sanchez told the same Danish newspaper that he found it “impossible” to be part of a system with two coaches and that “Caroline only got confused” as a result.

Piotr will return to coaching his daughter on his own, while the 21-year-old may occasionally go back to working with Sven Groeneveld and Darren Cahill of the adidas player development programme.
