Every day this week Tennishead will bring you high quality action photographs of the best players in the world at the Rogers Cup Toronto Masters.

Friday marked the business end of the tournament – and it showed. Gilles Simon and Marin Cilic might not have expected to be competing for a semi-final spot at the start of the week – and with such a reward in store, it is little surprise that the match was a cagey affair.

Renaissance man Nicolas Kiefer keeps on rolling back the years and made the most his chances against James Blake, who will be disappointed to miss out in a very open run to the final.

Then, the match of the tournament so far – we all know how it turned out…

Finally, Richard Gasquet was the latest player looking to end Rafael Nadal’s winning streak. The first set was an epic – but looked to have taken too much out of the Frenchman who just couldn’t maintain the intensity demanded by the Spaniard.
