Roger Federer’s tournament schedule for 2019

Roger Federer hasn’t yet confirmed his full schedule of tournaments for 2019 but a big change could be on the cards!

In 2019 the big news is that Roger Federer might be back on the clay. A source close to him has suggested that he wants to try winning the French Open again which means he’ll need to also play some warm up events on clay prior to Roland Garros.

This could be Federer’s last year on tour so it’s no shock that he wants to give every Grand Slam a good shot as it’s potentially his last chance to add to his current incredible tally of 20 Grand Slam singles titles.

But the risk is that he would increase the chance of injury if he did play more tournaments so changing his schedule at the age of 37 to play more tennis would undoubtedly be great for his millions of fans but would also be risky for his chances of success at the other tournaments.

Clay is a particularly tiring surface to play on as the points are so long. Federer has only once won the French Open and he didn’t have to beat Nadal to win it as an injured Rafa had already lost to Robin Soderling in the semi finals.

Roger Federer’s confirmed 2019 schedule is as follows:
