Roddick planning Washington return

World No.5 Andy Roddick appears to be slowly getting over his heartbreaking Wimbledon defeat to Roger Federer and has confirmed his next appearance on the ATP World Tour.

The popular American told fans through Twitter that his first appearance after Wimbledon will be in Washington DC.

Roddick pulled out of the recent Croatia-USA Davis Cup tie and this weeks Indianapolis event with a hip flexor injury following his five-set defeat to Federer, but news of his return appears to suggest he is on the mend.

“I keep getting asked when my next tourney will be. I will see all of u in Washington in two weeks,” Roddick wrote on his Twitter site.

The Legg Mason Classic is an ATP World Tour 500 hard court event that runs from August 2-9.

Other stars confirmed include Juan Martin Del Potro, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Fernando Gonzalez, Marin Cilic, Robin Soderling and Gael Monfils.
