With the prospect of another Rafa Nadal-Roger Federer Grand Slam final getting closer by the minute, (as I type Feds just finished off A-Rod in the last four), the great Rod Laver has given us his predictions for the weekend.

The Aussie legend says in the Herald Sun newspaper that his money is on Federer notching up Grand Slam title No.14 on Sunday and that at 27 years old the Swiss star is far from over the hill.

I picked Roger to win this event but only through the experience level, having been here a bunch of times, Laver told the Aussie paper.

When he gets to the quarter-finals and semi-finals his game seems to pick up and his errors get lost.

If hes got a 15-40 on an opponent he just doesnt go out of bounds hes going to make the other players work to win that point and thats the difference.

Theres a lot of players in there that are very talented and to pull through all those like when hes two sets down to [Tomas] Berdych thats the mark of a champion.
