Robson: My attitude is the same for every match

The British No.1 eased past Colombia’s Mariana Duque-Marino 6-4 6-1 to set up a third round clash with New Zealand’s Marina Erakovic.

After her giantkilling run to the fourth round at last year's US Open, Robson appears to relish playing on the big stage, and claimed the fourth top-ten win of her career with victory over No.10 seed Maria Kirilenko in the first round.

But playing against a qualifier ranked 124 places below her, Robson went into the match on Centre Court as favourite, and she showed no signs of nerves as she needed just 73 minutes to book her place in the last 32.

On paper she will be favourite once again against Erakovic, but the Kiwi won their only previous meeting in three sets on the grass in Birmingham last year. But Robson insists she approaches every game with the same attitude, regardless of who her opponent is.

“I still know that tomorrow's going to be tough, and I'm just going to have to play very well and focus the whole match to win,” Robson said. “[It] doesn't matter really who you're playing; you just have to go in with that attitude.

“I knew going into the match today that I was the favourite, and I thought I handled that pretty well.  Marina Erakovic; I've lost to her on grass before.  She's got a big game, a huge serve, a good slice as well.  Pretty much a perfect game for grass.”
