Ram, who came into the event as a lucky loser to take the place of Mardy Fish after he was called into the USA Davis Cup squad for their tie against Croatia, proved too strong for his fellow American.

Third seed Querrey claimed the first set on a tie-break but Ram hit back to claim a 6-7 (3/7) 7-5 6-3 win in his first ATP Tour final.
