The No.7 seed defeated Belinda Bencic 6-2 6-2 in the final to regain the title she first won in 2011 – the first time in her career she has won an event twice.

"I'm just so happy to be back in that Top 10,” said Radwanska, who moved up to No.9 in the Road to Singapore leaderboard. “It's very, very tight now. There are a lot of young players coming up, so many players who deserve to be Top 10, so I'm just happy I can be No.8 now. I think we are all playing to be one of the best in the world, and if you're not first, then at least Top 10.”

She added: "The Asia tour is key for me to go to Singapore, so I think this week I did a great job to give myself a better chance to go back there again."

Bencic had beaten Radwanska on their only previous meeting in June this year, in the final at Eastbourne, where the Swiss teenager won her maiden WTA title. She went on to win her second at the Rogers Cup in Canada, where Radwanska was unable to defend the title she won in 2014.

Bencic, who upset Garbine Muguruza and Caroline Wozniacki en route to the final, would have become the first teenager to break into the Top 10 since Wozniacki in 2010 with victory in Tokyo.
