The 2008 Australian Open finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga defeated his fellow Frenchman 6-4 7-6(9) 7-6(4) on Margaret Court Arena to reach the fourth round in Melbourne for a seventh time.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will now meet Kei Nishikori, a 7-5 2-6 6-3 6-4 winner against Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.
