He’s beaten Julien Benneteau, Richard Gasquet, Juan Martin del Potro and David Ferrer – all in straight sets – to reach the semi-finals of the Sony Ericsson Open and usurp Andy Roddick as the new American no.1. But while most reckon Mardy Fish hasn’t put a foot wrong in Miami, Judy Murray believes the 29-year-old Tampa native hasn’t got it completely right.

Sticking with the tweet-happy Murray family, Judy’s non-grey-shorts-wearing son Andy donned a grey t-shirt instead for his trip to watch David Haye and George Groves sparring in Miami. Jamie, meanwhile,  avoided boxing in favour of reading biscuits.

We’ll leave those Scots to it and head back to sunny Europe, where Michaella Krajicek – yep, the younger half-sister of former Wimbledon champion Richard – is preparing for her first trip to Spain, ever! A professional tennis player from Europe that has never been to the hub of clay court tennis? The mind boggles.

Talking of travel, World No.99 Sania Mirza had a few pre-flight nerves as she prepared to board a plane to Charleston. But don’t fret, the tin-can in the sky brought the Mumbai-born 24-year-old down safely.

Sticking with the WTA, Anastasia Rodionova provides conclusive proof that ‘women’ and ‘shopping’ are as dangerous a combination as ever.

And granted, Serena Williams may have a bit of time on her hands following her recent health scare, but there’s no excuse for this.
