Nick Kyrgios claims he is ‘way more knowledgeable than most coaches’ as he prepares to return to the ATP tour
Nick Kyrgios has suggested that he is ‘thinking about coaching’, as the Wimbledon finalist prepares to return for the grass court season.
Kyrgios has not played a competitive match in 2023, suffering with a knee injury that he had arthroscopic surgery on to clean up his lateral meniscus and remove a paralabral cyst.
His manager Daniel Horsfall revealed that the surgery went ‘great’, and Kyrgios had planned to return to Roland Garros for the first time since 2017.
However, the Aussie had to withdraw due to a foot injury sustained when running through his house during a robbery in Canberra, where his mother was allegedly held at gunpoint.
However, it appears that Kyrgios is on the mend now and will return for the grass court season where he found a lot of success at SW19 last year, reaching his first Grand Slam final.
The 28-year-old famously does not have a coach, but seems to be offering out his own services out on Twitter to Hollywood actor Ben Stiller, suggesting that he would trade his tennis coaching for some acting lessons in return.

Following these series of Tweets, Kyrgios said, “Look I know the game better than most. Way more knowledgeable and up to date than most of the coaches now, beaten everyone.”
This was met with a series of responses with people posting pictures of players that Kyrgios has never beaten before, including Dominic Thiem, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Hubert Hurkacz, Jannik Sinner, Taylor Fritz and Michael Venus.

Kyrgios has not played a match on the ATP tour since beating Kamil Majchrzak in Tokyo of October last year, but the Aussie appears to be attempting a full court schedule.

Mallorca (ATP 250) – Begins 25th June
