Andy Murray will warm up for the Australian Open by partnering Laura Robson for the second year running at the Hopman Cup.

Tournament organisers announced on Tuesday that the British pair will compete in Perth from January 1-8 as they look to better last year’s run to the final, where they were beaten by Spain.

World No.4 Murray will then turn his attention to Melbourne for his latest quest to land a long-awaited maiden Grand Slam crown. The Scot has positive memories of Australia after reaching the final at the Melbourne Slam last year before being beaten by Roger Federer.

“I’m looking forward to going back to the Hopman Cup,” Murray said this week.

“For me, it was a good start to the year and we went pretty close to winning. I look forward to playing with Laura once again.”

Tournament director Paul McNamee said: “Andy Murray is a rare talent so we are delighted he is coming back.

“His racket work last year was a joy to watch. Laura continues to develop and get better. They have a real chance once again.”
