Lucas Pouille tournament schedule 2020
Frenchman Lucas Pouille was forced to pull out of the 2019 tennis season after suffering an injury to his elbow in October so what can he achieve in 2020?
Lucas Pouille had a great start to the 2019 season making it all the way to the semi final of the Australian Open, before being defeated by Novak Djokovik. After missing out on getting to the finals it seemed to put him on a bit of a losing streak, as he lost his opening match at his next 5 tournaments following Melbourne. The tennis star opted to play in the 2019 ATP Challenger Tour tournament in Bordeaux to get back in form and it paid off as he won the singles title.
Pouile was set to play in the Paris Masters in November 2019, but unfortunately had to pull out due to an injury to his right elbow, which had apparently been bothering him for several months prior. The Frenchman has said that his favourite tennis surface to play on is a hard court, so we could be seeing a lot more of him on this surface in the 2020 season.
Pouille started the 2019 season at world No.30, but managed to finish the year at No.22. However, the rise was not straight forward as he was able to rise to No.17 in February 2019 before sinking to No.32 in April. Will he be able to climb the rankings even more in the 2020 season.
