Isner, who wrote his name into the Wimbledon history books three years ago with his famous victory over Nicolas Mahut in the longest match in tennis history, said he was proud to be in attendance.

"I've been with Prince since I was 12 years old so it's very humbling to see my big ugly mug in the window," Isner said.

Also in attendance as the store was officially opened in the heart of tennis's most famous postcode was legendary tennis coach Nick Bollettieri, who has trained ten world No.1 players, .

"When Prince came out with the oversized racket in the late 70s people thought they were crazy," Bollettieri added. "But it takes crazy people to do crazy things, and all you have to do is look at what the world did, and everybody copied it. Prince are not afraid to take a chance. Their philosophy is to let the products do the talking."

With exclusive Wimbledon-by-Prince merchandise, the store will also showcase the complete line of Prince performance rackets, footwear, strings, grips and accessories. Stringing and re-gripping services will also be available at the SW19 store.
