“I’d be happy with third” Andy Murray reveals surprise aspiration for tournament return

Andy Murray, former World no.1, has said he’s targeting a third place finish in his group of four players at the ‘Battle of the Brits’

Andy Murray is renowned for his dry, sarcastic sense of humour so maybe he wasn’t being 100% truthful when he announced that his target for the group stage of the ‘Battle of the Brits’ was to finish third out of four.

Murray was speaking to his brother Jamie immediately after the draw for this new event when he said, “I’m looking to finish third in my group. I’d be happy with that”

Murray has been drawn in the Tim Henman Group with: James Ward (#273), Liam Broady (#211), Andy Murray (#129), and Kyle Edmund (#44)

The other group is named after Greg Rusedski and features: Jack Draper (#285), Jay Clarke (#167), Cameron Norrie (#77), and Dan Evans (#28).
