Second seed Melzer failed to progress any further in his home tournament as Youzhny set up a meeting with Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

Youzhny dominated despite losing his first service game and went on to record a comfortable straight-sets victory.

Spaniard Garcia-Lopez upset Romania’s third seed Victor Hanescu 6-2 6-2 to reach the semi-finals.

France’s Julien Benneteau defeated Austrian Daniel Koellerer 6-2 6-7 (5-7) 6-0 and will meet Oscar Hernandez in the other last-four clash.

The Spaniard beat Argentinian Juan Ignacio Chela 6-4 6-4.
