Hingis & Mirza win third straight major

The world No.1 doubles team, featuring Hingis, who only teamed up at Indian Wells last year, have won 12 titles together and have are on a 36-match winning streak which stretches back to August 2015.

Hingis and Mirza defeated the Czech No.7 seeds 7-6(1) 6-3 in a highly competitive clash on Rod Laver Arena. The Swiss-Indian pair, who won the women’s doubles crown at Wimbledon and the US Open in 2015, were broken four times but managed to win in straight sets.

Dubbed Santina by their fans, the pair are now six matches away from a non-calendar Grand Slam, should they win the title at Roland Garros they would be in possession of all four majors.
