“He’s the biggest draw in our sport” Former world No.4 hopes for Roger Federer return


Roger Federer is sounding positive about a return to tennis in time for the Australian Open and British legend Tim Henman has his fingers crossed this will happen 

 

Roger Federer hasn’t played competitive tennis since he lost in a dramatic semi-final loss to Novak Djokovic at the 200 Australian Open. Since then he’s undergone surgery and is currently in recovery but recent comments from his coach and other insiders suggest he may be able to make his return to the game at the Australian Open in early 2021

Henman, who is working for Eurosport throughout the tournament, was asked what he thought about the potential return to tennis for Roger Federer, “I still think he’s the biggest draw in our sport. He’s been out of action for so long so fingers crossed he’s going through his rehab process but it’s really exciting when you hear him say he’s keen to get back out there and fingers crossed everything goes to plan for the Australian Open.”

At one point in his career Henman held a 7-1 head to head lead over Federer only for the Swiss legend to win their last 6 encounters, before Henman retired, ending their rivalry with a 7-6 advantage.
