The Olympic Village is well-known as a hotbed of sexual tension why else did organisers provide a reported 100,000 condoms to the 16,500 athletes in Beijing?

One tennis superstar who wasnt slow in mingling with his fellow athletes is Novak Djokovic.

Serbian website Kurir-info reported that the world No.3 hooked up with 26-year-old Paraguayan javelin chucker Leryn Franco while staying at the Village.

Apparently, Novak was the envy of his male peers in Beijing – and not because of his new companion’s talents with a javelin.

As well as track and field, Franco is well known for her modelling exploits after finishing in 42nd place at the 2004 Athens Olympics, the South American was runner-up in the Miss Paraguay competition and the Miss Bikini Universe pageant.

The athlete is proud of her modelling career and has even produced her own calendar.

“Modelling is a way for me to continue with my sport, the hours are flexible, and you can earn good money through photographic modelling and the catwalk, says Franco.

The male contingent of the Tennishead team look forward to Franco becoming a regular fixture in tennis stadia the world over.
