Gael Monfils at the 2020 Australian Open

Updated: Gael Monfils tournament schedule 2020

French star Gael Monfils has had an excellent start to 2020, with an ATP title already to his name.

Monfils won the Open Sud de France, defeating Canadian Vasek Pospisil in the final. He also reached the fourth round of the Australian Open, losing to eventual finalist Dominic Thiem.

Gael Monfils had quite the year in 2019 on the ATP Tour, playing more tournaments than he ever has before. After the season ended the player said he probably won’t be making the same decision again. But all those extra matches seemed to work in his favour, as he won the eighth ATP title of his career at the 2019 Rotterdam Open by defeating Stan Wawrinka.

Monfils has had a stunning 2019 in terms of his ranking. He started the 2019 season at No.32 and has progressed all the way to No.10. Will he be able to continue this rise in 2020?
