Despite losing a one-sided final 6-1 6-3 to Rafael Nadal at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome on Sunday, the 17-time Grand Slam champion is happy with his form ahead of the second Grand Slam of the year.

It will be the first time since 2000 that the Swiss travels to Paris having failed to win a title this season, but he is confident he has a good chance of reclaiming the title he won in 2009.

“I am playing well and I am healthy, so I have everything to play for [at Roland Garros],” Federer said. “This week was good to get an idea about what is working.

“[After] a couple of days off [I’ll] start on Wednesday and start to see how hard to train on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday see who to practice with.

“I don’t have a crazy week with sponsors and so I am trying to keep that to a minimum and enjoy the time with the family and so I want quality on court and lets see the quantity.”
