Roger Federer may be struggling to get the better of Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray so far this year, but the former world No.1 and 13-time Grand Slam winner has taken pole position in the personality stakes.

The world No.2 has just been voted the fairest and most popular player on the ATP World Tour after the 2008 ATP World Tour awards were announced in Miami on Wednesday.

Fellow players voted Roger as the winner of the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award for the fifth consecutive year. Impressed? Well he also won the Fans Favourite award for the sixth consecutive year too.

It is great to receive two more awards, said the dad-to-be. It is always important for me to be a good sportsman on the court and give the right example for others to follow and hopefully inspire the next generation.

It also means the world to me to be the fans favourite player for the sixth year in a row. The support I receive from the fans around the world is so motivating and it is humbling to receive this award once again.

Fed is currently in Miami preparing for his first match at the Sony Ericsson Open where the second seed will open up against American Kevin Kim.
