Vera Zvonareva (RUS), Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS), Petra Kvitova (CZE) and Barbora Zahlavova Strycova (CZE), were chosen by a judging panel, which consists of ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti, international journalists and photographers, as well as former players such as Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario.

“All four players have played a key role in getting Russia and Czech Republic through to the final, which is shaping up to be one of the closest for years,” said Ricci Bitti. “Their passion and commitment embodies the spirit of the competition, and I would like to congratulate all of them for being nominated for this Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Heart Award.”

This award is the last of six Heart Awards handed out in 2011 with the previous five going to Andrea Petkovic (GER), Bojana Jovanovski (SRB), Bianca Botto (PER), Ayumi Morita (JPN) and Victoria Azarenka (BLR).

The winner of the World Group semifinals award will be decided by a public vote being held on the Fed Cup website from October 7-28 and the winner will be announced in Moscow during the lead up to the final. The winner will receive a cheque for $10,000 to be donated to a charity of their choice.

Russia and Czech Republic will battle it out for the Fed Cup title at the Olympic Stadium from November 5-6.
