After being trounced in the Australian Open final by Maria Sharapova, Ivanovic went one better in the final of Roland Garros, beating Dinara Safina just a day after being made world No.1 and looked to have arrived. But a shock early exit at Wimbledon and a summer series marred by injury saw her lose the top spot to compatriot Jelena Jankovic. But after a wretched run of form, Ivanovic titled last week in Linz as her form started to return. Could she end the season on a high?

B is for back-ups
Nice work if you can get it Agnieszka Radwanska and Nadia Petrova are also in Doha, lined up as reserve players should any of the top eight girls pull out for any reason.
