Donnay return with X-Series rackets

One of the most famous brands in tennis is marking its centenary year in the game in style. Donnay, the American marque that has provided sticks for the likes of Bjorn Borg, Andre Agassi and Greg Rusedski over the years, has announced the imminent release of the X-Series, a range of nine rackets each featuring Donnay’s patented XeneCore technology.

Already available in the United States and set to come to these shores in the near future, the X-Series has been designed in conjunction with world-renowned racket technician Roman Prokes.

“These rackets are geared towards established players that are looking for the maximum combination of power, control, and technology,” says the man trusted to customise the frames of Andy Roddick, Agassi, Maria Sharapova and John McEnroe over the years.

As well as the XeneCore technology, which, according to Donnay, creates a solid core frame achieving the highest strength-to-weight ratio in the industry and allows them to produce a racket with the slimmest beam width currently stocked on the specialists’ shelves, the X-Series rackets also come with removable weights which slot into the butt-cap and around the head of the racket, allowing players to adjust the weight and balance to their liking.

The range is already turning heads Stateside: the super-thin frames may look flimsy on the shelf but are proving to be anything but out on court.

We can’t wait to get our hands on the range and put them through their paces!
