The world No.1 needed just 55 minutes to power past Germany’s Florian Mayer and the top seed broke out into a celebratory dance after sealing a 6-2 6-1 victory.

"If I keep on winning, I'll do it after every match. If I win the next one, you can expect same song but maybe little bit different dance,” said Djokovic, who danced to Daft Punk’s hit single ‘Get Lucky’. “We'll work on it."

Making his first appearance since his Wimbledon final defeat to Andy Murray last month, Djokovic quickly adjusted to the hard courts as he cruised into the third round, where he will meet either Denis Istomin or local wildcard Filip Peliwo.

Murray, meanwhile, kicks off his campaign on Wednesday against Marcel Granollers, who defeated Grigor Dimitrov 6-4 6-4.

World No.71 Vasek Pospisil claimed the biggest scalp of his career as he defeated John Isner 5-7 7-6(5) 7-6(4) while his fellow Canadian Milos Raonic moved into the second round with a 6-3 4-6 7-5 victory over Jeremy Chardy.
