The second-seeded Russian made light work of Mathieu, who was seeded 13th, with an impressive display.

Davydenko’s previous title triumph came in Warsaw in June 2008. He was hampered through the first several months of 2009 by a heel injury suffered in his first tournament of the year in Chennai.
