Becker to attend ball kids national trials

Becker, who won six Grand Slams between 1985 and 1996, will be joined by Andy Murray’s former coach, Mark Petchey, as they help select the final squad of 30.

Now in its fourth year, the Barclays Ball Kids programme has conducted a nationwide search, with 2500 youngsters taking part in regional trials.

Chosen for their agility, endurance, co-ordination, ball skills, balance, speed and teamwork, the final 100 have qualified for the national selection trials at The Riverside Northwood Health and Racquets Club, London.

The Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, the year-end tournament featuring the best eight singles players and best eight doubles teams in the world, takes place on November 4-11 at London’s O2 Arena.
