The Swiss player, 20, produced a mixed display with a combination of three aces and four double-faults, but she had more success on her serve and clinched a 6-2 7-5 victory.

The win, achieved in just under one and a half hours, is the high point of a successful season for Bacsinszky after she reached finals in both Prague and Istanbul.
