Aussie Open fans are known as the most colourful in the world and they didnt disappoint on Thursday as they came out in force to cheer on the worlds best.

Melbourne Park was lit up by an army of supporters clad in green and gold on the Rod Laver Arena.

And the stadium came to life late in the day when little-known Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro shocked the tennis world with a three-set victory over sixth seed Venus Williams.

Among the other superstars in second round action were Rafa, Serena, Mauresmo, Gasquet, Czink, Dulko, Zheng, the Murrays, Pennetta, Verdasco, Gonzalez and Cibulkova.
