The governing body for the mens tour has unveiled its multimillion dollar Feel It marketing campaign which features world No.1 Rafael Nadal and fellow top ten stars Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Roddick, Andy Murray and James Blake.

The concept is to show the sport as a one-on-one gladiatorial battle. One of the images shows Nadal hitting a ball in outer space playing tennis to a level thats out of this world.

The new campaign got the seal of approval from the man himself.

Theyve done a great job with this since it is cool and spectacular, said Nadal. Although I consider myself someone very down to Earth it is funny to see us up there playing with the stars.

I hope this campaign helps bring more attention, new people and fans to the tennis tournaments. I understand this is the goal and I am sure we will make it happen.”

The next 12 months is an important period for the game and in a bid to increase the appeal of the sport from January the tours name and logo will change to ATP World Tour.

The tournament categories will also be renamed to reflect the importance of a particular event. There will be three tiers of events:

  • ATP World Tour Masters 1000
  • ATP World Tour 500
  • ATP World Tour 250

The new names reflect the number of ranking points available to the winners of each level of tournament.

The season will come to a climax at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals which will be held at Londons O2 arena and will feature the top eight singles players and the top eight doubles teams.
