Alize Cornet: My best Wimbledon moment

It has to be the moment I beat Serena on Court One last year, 6-4 in the third set after one of the best matches of my career. There were such emotions. The crowd were amazing that day. The week before I had lost my grandmother, so it was really tough for me mentally to play this tournament.

Beating Serena in the third round and qualifying for the second week was so unexpected. The year before that was a disaster. I thought my game would never suit grass but, finally, after I kept working and kept believing in myself, I finally beat the No.1 so anything can happen. I kissed the grass at the end because the moment was so beautiful, so perfect.”
