Alexander Zverev reveals diabetes struggle as he launches children’s charity
Alexander Zverev has revealed he suffers from diabetes as he launched a charity to help children with the condition.
The world number two has not previously spoken about it before, but he says his foundation will provide medicines for those most in need.
“Today, the Alexander Zverev Foundation has officially come to life, supporting children with type 1 diabetes and helping people prevent type 2 diabetes by living a healthy and active life,” Zverev announced.
“Our mission is to provide insulin and life-saving medicine to children in developing countries and those in need.
“As a type 1 diabetic myself, I want to encourage children with diabetes to never give up on their dreams no matter what others might say to you.
“The only limit is the one you set yourself.”
Alexander Zverev is currently out of the game with the foot injury he sustained at Roland Garros.

He faced Rafael Nadal in the semi-final and it was turning into a marathon clash, with the first two sets taking three hours to near a conclusion.
Just as the second set was about to go to a tiebreak, Zverev got his ankle caught in the clay and he went over on it, tearing three lligaments in the process.
He immediately underwent surgery and there is currently no nindcation of when he will return to action.
